December 8 Blog Post
I have talked to Mrs. Miller, and she said that she could be my mentor. She said she can help me with the advertising part of it by letting people in her group know about the event, and also if I need help from her knowledge of animal related information she can provide I will ask her.
PAWS for People can be a somewhat comparison to PALS so I could use it as an example for a non-profit volunteer organization so people who don`t know about this kind of thing can be informed.
I am going to be trying to finish a good amount of my project this month and in January as well. I will be (finally) deciding which week in March it will be held. I will also be starting to notify people of the event when I finish my advertisements in the forms of paper handouts and also PALS and my local neighborhood website will have a post about it too. I`m not entirely sure about having stuff at school about it for some reason. I might change my mind.
The specifics of my deliverables for December are as follows from my proposal:
I will keep working on this and hopefully this can happen.

December 1 Blog Post
I have been looking for a place to donate some small food for the event, and I think that I will be using Zoey`s Kitchen in Wayne (which isn't that far from Painting With A Twist which is also in Wayne) and I just have to contact them via e-mail, according to their website. I plan on getting this from them because they are somewhat inexpensive regularly and if I can get them to donate a few platters of something like small sandwiches or something like that. It would work out perfectly because since its not meant to be a dinner, but a small snack for people to eat. The food all comes with admission as a part of the event.
I am also planning to talk to Mrs. Miller about PAWS for People, an organization that she is involved in and to see if she can also be my mentor for this project. This would also be useful because she can help me to get the word out about my event at school and to the other students in the group who might also be interested.
For the advertising I was thinking about using paper flyers for handing out at places like my church, and my parents`s offices and also possibly in school (I`m going to ask the administration if I can hang some flyers up around the school and possibly also have an announcement of sometime to play i the morning announcements). I was also going to use the websites or PALS and my neighborhood website so people can be notified of the event. I am still aiming for a Monday in March 2018. I will be starting advertising in mid January, giving about 2 months notice to people so they can plan ahead for the event if they choose to attend.

November 9 Blog Post
So far I have finished my pitch, and I don`t know if it has been approved yet by my teacher, but prior to the pitch, my fundraiser was approved by P.A.L.S. I though that I could have done but better on my pitch though.
I have my deliverables ready for this month, and I will be doing my best to meet them before December.
My deliverables for this month are:
- Finish my general planning for the event in a general perspective.
- Think about how my advertising can be planned out and also to think about how I will be get the word out to other people in the community.
- Start deciding on a Monday night in March or April for the event. (Monday was the only available day for the venue that will be holding the event to hold the fundraiser)
- Find a place near or in Wayne to give a donation of some food for the event.
I have also decided that there will not be a raffle - it was originally stated in my chart of deliverables in my proposal - because it would be too much hassle to get it organized, and I want the event to be simple, but effective for what I want to accomplish with it.
For the part involving financials and how much money will be gained by the funds from admission, the venue will need to take the money that is made from the event and only take the amount for their expenses and give the rest back and that will go towards P.A.L.S.
I will be working with what I have and know for now, and after that I will get into the detailed planning for my event, and then it will happen in March or April, and I hope it works out okay.

October 20th Blog Post
I have my proposal finished, and now I am working on my blogs and pitch. For this month, I don`t have anything planned, and I only have to give my pitch for my project next Thursday (10/26/17). It only has to be 30 seconds to 1 minute. It also has to be memorized, which may be a bit hard for me, since I`m not all that good at memorizing things.
However, I will probably take advantage of the fact that I am now allowed to use a note-card, as said by my teacher.
I`m going to be working on my pitch in the next few days, and practice it a bunch of times to prepare for Thursday. I will be using today and the weekend to work on the pitch, and the week to practice it as much as possible in preparation. I hope to get my project idea approved so I can hold my fundraiser.
For next month, I am going to start my planning for my fundraiser. This will include, some general planning and also brainstorming ways that I can get out the information about my event to people I know and people around the neighborhood and in the community as well.
Hopefully everything stays on track throughout this process.

October 6th Blog Post
I have been assigned a school project and it`s called 20 time. The purpose of this project is to learn things about a topic that we chose. everyone`s project I different, and for mine, I chose to organize a fundraiser for the animal rescue organization, PALS.
What is PALS?
P.A.L.S is a volunteer-run organization that was founded in 1996. P.A.L.S stands for Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society. P.A.L.S received the non-profit status in 2000, 4 years after being founded. What P.A.L.S does is they help cats and dogs who are in need of a home. P.A.L.S will place the animals into a secure, caring foster home until they can be put up for adoption and go to their forever home. P.A.L.S will supply all the veterinary care needed with the funding they get from donators.
P.A.L.S is a well-known, all-volunteer, non-profit organization, dedicated to solving the problem with homeless and abandoned animals by rescuing pets who are strays, abandoned, and unwanted. They are dedicated to the well-being of all animals. Unlike some other shelters and animal organizations, PALS is a non-kill organization and an animal will never be put down from just behavioral, logistical, or economical issues. An animal will only require euthanization if they are truly suffering, and their pain cannot be fully treated. Other, larger animal kill shelters, in Philadelphia for example, commonly put down unwanted animals that don`t get adopted within a short period of time.
56 % of dogs and 71% of cats that enter animal shelters are euthanized. More cats are euthanized than dogs because they are more likely to enter a shelter without any owner identification. There are many other statistics (according to the American Humane Society ) that show how much of a priority for organizations like P.A.L.S to make the number of animals in kill-shelters and on the streets go down drastically.
