April 6th Blog Post

The Painting for PALS fundraiser was a success! I was very impressed by the amount of  money that was raised from the fundraiser, and how smoothly everything ran. The fundraiser raised $342.50, which I wasn`t expecting. We had 19 people, including myself, who attended the event. Half of the proceeds will be going towards helping PALS via my donation, and the other half will be going towards paying the venue for letting me use it. I am going to ask my mentor/colleague Amy to give me the mailing address so I can email the people at Painting With a Twist where to send the donation, which is PALS.

I need to ask the people at Painting With A Twist about what possible funds are left over from the 50% that wasn`t going to PALS, because I don`t think that $330 is what we were required to pay, considering since the event was a fundraiser, the cost was discounted. I`m not sure of exactly how much, but I will ask Painting With A Twist about it via an email.

I`m sort of worried about it since I have some expenses that I need to pay off, like the cost of printing the flyers for the event, the party tray and waters I got for the event. Those expenses total to about $40 which isn`t a lot, I know, but my goal from square 1 was to not have any out of pocket expenses, and for it to all be donated and/or covered by the remainder of money from the other 50% that wasn`t going to PALS.

Anyway, I plan to get this done over this weekend (since I`ve procrastinated enough already), so that I can move on towards getting a start on my final project, which is something that I need to work a lot on, since it`s my final, and it`s worth 10% of my whole grade this year.

Here is the email I received from Painting With A Twist after my event:
